bloom: a photo series
In the morning when I wake
And the sun is coming through,
Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,
And you fill my head with you
Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?
Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down?
Oh, you fill my head with pieces
Of a song I can't get out
When the evening pulls the sun down,
And the day is almost through,
Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,
But my world is you
There is something about the afternoon light, the way it would cast light and shadow the wooden floor of my bedroom, so tender and even melancholic.
This photoshoot came about because I was inspired by the evening light in my neighborhood and how it made me feel.
Before last semester even ended, I asked around if friends of friends can be models, but the profiles that came up did not suit the picture in my head, so, instead, I asked my sister if she wanted to be photographed, and she liked the results which doubled my happiness.
My room and house are far from photogenic but we made use of the space and that one moment of the day the sun made everything so beautiful and here were the shots. I hope you like them.
