Social media executive job role study

In the start of this blog, I have shared how one of my career objectives is to work for a fashion brand. In my one year of study, I have realised how much I love creating specific creative content for an online brand, and I also learn that I prefer multi-brand store more than individual retail store. Therefore, one of the ways in which I can see myself in fashion brand is by creating digital marketing content for them. I tried to look at some companies I like in Indonesia, where I want to work, and the job opening listings and I found out that the role that fits my skill the most are usually the ones that have to do with Social Media.

The roles below are also interesting to me because they combine creativity and analytical skill, which is perfect for me. Each job seems to want more the ability to brainstorm and edit visuals, but styling, video editing, writing, engagement and observing and improving upon analysed results of the campaign. Each job also stresses the importance of working well in team, which makes sense because the job will need interaction with other teams, and always in collaborations.

Because of my internship in Benjamin Barker as well as my involvement in Digital Fashion Week’s social media account and events, I am familiar with a lot of the points mentioned in the responsibilities such as communicating in a brand’s voice, with relevant topics to target audience, and roughly know how to measure KPI for social media success (amount of hashtags, new followings, conversion from view to purchase, referral code usage, mentions, etc)

I am familiar with the tools needed from the creation such as adobe photoshop, illustrator, as well as the platforms and processes (specific sizes, online ad set-up, content scheduling, etc)

I would think the projects that I did that include social media content creation and management throughout college counts as relevant experience and as the experience required are 1-2 years, I can assume the position can be open to entry level applicants like fresh graduates.

I think one thing that I still need to learn is to pay more attention to detail, as it is mentioned multiple times, and one thing which I am not very confident in saying I am.

Zalora is looking for a PR & SM Executive to achieve significant increases in brand awareness and engagement.  Reporting to the PRSM Manager, this role is based in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The primary focus is to grow Social Media platforms for ZALORA brand, including content marketing and campaign management on Social Media. Requirements :

  • Education at least Bachelor Degree in communication or Marketing. Other degree is welcomed with relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience in Social Media/Community management

  • Preferably someone with experience managing both Social Media organic and advertising, as well as content marketing.

  • Have strong interest in fashion and e-commerce industry

  • Active and dynamic to fast changing pace work environment

  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.

  • Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content.

  • Create a regular publishing schedule.

  • Leverage the right tools to manage your content.

  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns.

  • Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:

    elop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers.

  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written).

  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales.

  • Conduct online advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions.

  • Working closely with PR executive to develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.

  • Oversee design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, IG profile, etc.).

  • Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns.

  • Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation. Monitor online reviews and respond to each review.

  • Analyze key metrics and tweak strategy as needed.

Social Media Manager at Style Theory

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and detail-oriented Social Media Manager. This person directly owns performance outcomes for the Social Media Organic channels, and will be responsible for overseeing all social media strategies across all existing and future social platforms, training and leading a team of social media executives to create and implement highly effective, creative, on-brand and shareable social media campaigns, and report directly to the Head of Marketing.

In this role, he/she is expected to work closely with the content, performance marketing, KOL and product team leads to ensure that social media plans are effectively integrated into brand marketing and paid media efforts, as well as leverage any potential earned and owned media opportunities.

You are only as good as your team. We are looking for a proactive and hands-on leader who will actively seek opportunities and inspire his/her team members to raise the bar for the strategic approach, creative development and execution within the social media space. He/She will formulate best-practices and performance measurement tools to direct and train the team to be able to think analytically and creatively while engaging with the audience and leveraging the benefits of each platform.

Apart from social media marketing, he/she plays a major role in community management; working collaboratively with the founders, brand manager and customer experience team to brainstorm and execute community-driven projects that help enhance brand loyalty and reputation. In addition, he/she will be building strong relationships with the #womenofstyletheory community and ultimately, converting them to become brand advocates (our superfans)!

  • Own the development of a strategic social media marketing plan across all new and existing social media channels to drive acquisition performance KPIs

  • Own the social presence for both Style Theory Apparel and Bags product lines, ensure a strong “voice” and curated brand presence via visual and copy consistency on existing Facebook and Instagram feeds, stories, posts

  • Develop social KPIs to grow and scale Style Theory’s social initiatives and expand audience outreach

  • Build, inspire and lead a team of social media executives in brainstorming ideas, content creation and execution to meet all performance objectives

  • Develop strong internal channel reporting and execution processes to ensure a scalable and sustainable operational setup for the social team

  • Lead the development and execution of a wide range of content formats, including video, static image, animation, live action, texts (long-form and short-form)

  • Provide inspirational, original ideas and thought-leadership to reach and entice target audiences

  • Contribute to overall marketing content planning and creation; write original, thought-provoking and creative content pieces that will be used on all owned social channels

  • Work collaboratively with the Content, Design and Production Teams to create briefs and quality artworks that bring the marketing campaign ideas to live

  • Work collaboratively with the Product Marketing Manager to understand channel KPIs and develop strategies based on hypothesis and insights from internal and external data/statistical analysis

  • Work collaboratively with Customer Experience Team to ensure quality control of the company’s relevant conversations and responses in social media, and create a seamless customer experience in-app and on social

  • Work collaboratively with marketing channel stakeholders to improve content strategy and maximise distribution of assets, and develop strategies to drive impact for the business

  • Discover and work with platforms or agencies to find effective ways to execute and measure social media marketing plans that will maximise engagement, boost sharing, talk value and advocacy
